The Development Of The Hong Kong Political System Current Situation And Future Trend

Now Hong Kong has the status of Special Administrative Region(SAR Hong Kong)of People's Republic of China,but 21 years ago it was a colony of Great Britain.The Chinese People's Government has always wanted to return Hong Kong under its jurisdiction,according to its idea of "Greater China" and 40 years later(since the proclamation of this idea),China succeeded.But the current Hong Kong political system will only exist until the end of the transition period(until 2047).Significance of the study is due to the constantly growing role of China and Hong Kong as its part in the modern world.Changing the status of Hong Kong from the colony to SAR can serve as a reference point in determining the direction of relations between China and Taiwan.Chinese authorities have come to an idea that territories of Hong Kong,Macau,and Taiwan must be brought under Chinese rule through the process of peaceful unification(economic,social and political integration).So the concept of "one country,two systems" can serve as an instrument for realization those processes.Nonetheless it is impossible to compare these cases in terms of historical background,size,location,political status etc.in which they were divided with the Mainland China.So this study is trying to give brief background of the political system during the colonial period to give the readers basic information of Hong Kong political situation during that time.And after the readers will be able to understand the processes led to the modern situation and the status of Hong Kong.The next thing is the analysis of the formation of Hong Kong political system in the transition period and after its transfer under Chinese jurisdiction.The transition period is very important period either in Hong Kong history or in Chinese history.It played significant role in Hong Kong history because during that time Chinese created the basic rights and the basic rules in collaboration with former British government.It is also important for the history of Chinese international relations because it was teamwork between communist China and capitalist Great Britain.Also this paper discusses the current processes that happen in the political area and the reasons for development in the nearest future.The author identifies several reasons for the understanding the current situation in Hong Kong,such as political reasons,economical reasons and also it is important to take into account the social psychology of the Hong Kong SAR.Various political systems are in constant development and the political system of Hong Kong is no exception.In the region there are constantly different processes that affect the development of the region.For example,every year a large number of political parties appear,people are becoming more interested in the political life of the region.Naturally,they are not always able to express their political interest correctly,which leads to unrest,but nevertheless it shows how the region grew,and in particular shows the attitude of the Center to the territory and its promise of non-interference.In Hong Kong,there are two directions of development:the pro-establishment direction and the pro-democratic direction.In this paper,an analysis is made of both directions,with what they are related and how they affect the development of the political system of Hong Kong.The main question is:what is going to happen to the Hong Kong political system?Unfortunately,it is impossible to answer this question now,because the future is determined by a huge number of factors and one of the most important factors is the human factor.But there is only one determined thing is that Hong Kong will never be able to become an independent territory,and the freedom it has now is the maximum degree possible to have.First,Hong Kong was a small fishing village in Guangdong province,after the Opium wars it had become a part of British colony,and since 1997 it has become a SAR in China.And now it is only possible to trace the trends in possible options for the future of Hong Kong.The special status of Hong Kong will remain unchanged for another 29 years.Beijing,in turn,in every way supports and politically allows the region to grow and form a powerful economic micro-region,which contributes to the inflow of capital into high-tech industries.
