China’s society is experiencing two major trends regarding aging and digitalization, which have caused a dilemma relating to digital changes concerning the elderly population. After first demonstrating the absence of social and media channels, this paper then turns toward the internal aspects of the family, while focusing on the idea of intergenerational information feedback to encourage the elderly to better adapt to the digital environment. It further offers a complementary feature of a “media intermediary” and "college for elderly people”.This idea could also expand the channel of "resocialization" for the elderly and promote the harmonious development and acquisition of a new frontier for intergenerational relationships.Furthermore, this paper utilizes the mind map of “What it is--influences by what--how to do”,and first describes the questions: “What is the family’s intergenerational information feedback?”,and “What advantages could it have to promote the movement of digitalization for the elderly?” Next, the quantitative and qualitative research methods are combined,so as to explore which factors will affect the willingness and effect of feedback, and which factors will affect the digital adaptation of the elderly population at a higher level.A further exploration will be made into the role played by demographics, family structure, communication patterns, and the field of feedback.Lastly, based on the research results, this paper discusses various countermeasures from the perspective of the parental and filial generation, and attempts to accelerate the digital adaptation of the elderly population. The full text is divided into five parts. The introduction is divided into four sections. The first section is based on the related data, and highlights the idea regarding the plight of attempting to adapt the elderly to the digital age.It also critically discusses deficiencies of government channels and media channels in the process of digital transformation. This research then focuses on generation-related information feedback within the family structure and demonstrates the origin and meaning of such research. From the analyses of past researches, the second section reflects studies focusing on the fact that the process of the digitalization of elderly people from intergenerational feedback is still not sufficient. In the third section,it includes the research hypothesis, research method and research framework. The fourth section summarizes the innovative aspects of the paper based on the primary emphasis of this study. The first chapter clarifies the concept definitions and basic theories, which are divided into three sections. The first section theoretically explores relevant concepts such as digital refugees, intergenerational relations, and information feedback,as well as defining and explaining specific concepts based on the research requirements of this article. The second section begins from the perspective of “vertical contrast”,by combining intergenerational relations from the inheritance of traditional tribes to the order of the industrial society,to the centre of the industrial society, and then on to the digital generation of imbalances. This also illustrates the origin and impact resulting from the changes of perspective regarding economics, society, etc. In the third section, from the perspective of “transversal analysis”,taking the predicament of the present intergenerational relationship as the cross section, this paper first specifies the predicament of the parents, describes the status of the digital refugees within the elderly group, and examines the role of vacancy for society, media, and government. This is followed by embodying the advantage of offspring, clarifying the information advantage of the offspring and the reasons for this phenomenon,so as to form the foundation for intergenerational feedback.Once again intergenerational feedback is proposed, and the roles and influences of family providing a response to parents are clarified.Next, the paper will explain the advantages of the channel and finally, emphasize the concept of intergenerational symbiosis, analyse the impact of intergenerational feedback on parent-child generations and intergenerational relationships, which emphasizes that repeated feedback is not a question concerning the status of the parent, but a two-way improvement construct and a common development of two generations of people. The second chapter covers the research design, inquiring into an intergenerational information response that provides the channels for the digital changes of the various age groups. The variety of factors that tend to influence the above are divided into three sections. The first section proposes the research questions and assumptions: Is there a difference in the digital survival ability of parents and children and is it possible to garner feedback? What factors influence(receive)the feedback intention and effect? Does the feedback of information have an impact on the family’s intergenerational relationships and, thus, affect the digital adaptation of the elderly parents? In the second section, the quantified research method of the questionnaire survey was designed to explain the sampling methodologies,pre-surveys and formal investigations,as well as the quantification of key indicators and clarification of data measurement methods. In the third section, the qualitative study of focus group interviews was designed to expound on the reasons for selecting six households as samples, and the circumstances of the interviews. The third chapter explores the influencing factors of feedback and is divided into three sections. The first section is a descriptive statistic of the situation relating to the relevant sample. The second section is a quantitative analysis based on questionnaires, including descriptive statistics of the sample and the analysis of various specific influencing factors. The third section is based on a qualitative analysis of the focus groups, including sample portraits and related discussions. The study revealed the following.Firstly,in terms of digital survivability, there are differences between the two generations of parents and their children, and it is even more evident in the “cognition of new things” and “acceptance of new ideas”.Secondly,in terms of(receiving)feedback appeals, the place of residence has a significant influence on the feedback intention of the offspring, while the other demographic factors do not have a significant effect on the(receiving)reciprocal feedback intention;family closeness is positively correlated with(receiving)the reciprocal feedback intention.Third, the feedback effect of the “cognition of new things” and the “use of new tools” is superior to that of “new concept acceptance”.Fourth,in terms of the effect of feedback on intergenerational relationships, both generations agree that feedback has a positive impact, and is conducive to helping older parents establish positive ideologies and adapt to the digital age.The fourth chapter focuses on the strategy discussion, and is divided into two sections, from the perspective of parents and children,so as to explore how to use the family generation information response to speed up and enhance the digitization process of the elderly group. In terms of children, first of all,we should abandon the inherent stereotypes of age, education, and economic factors, and conduct a comprehensive response for all types of parents.Second,we must be adept at creating an appropriate atmosphere for family communication and pay close attention to the attitude and skills of providing a response. Moreover,we must assist older parents to fully adapt to the digital age from the perspective of tools for the mind.In terms of the parents, they must first establish a sense of active learning and should not use age and education as an excuse to abandon the adaptation process and learning of digitization.Second,we must change the concept of “mainly based on me”,and lay down the identity, pay attention to methods, and do not use authority and parental status or an imperative tone in conversing with children.Once again, they should actively participate in aspects of family digital practices, but should not exclude,or contradict the contact and utilization of digital devices, and the integration of learning into everyday life.
