As an important part of national image and government image,the image of the top leader influence the public perception of the leader,even the government actions,and affect the national solidarity and cohesion profoundly.Meanwhile it is an important element of showing national identity to other countries.So,it is a valuable research field that how to disseminate the more vivid image of the top leader in the social-media age as the mainstream media.This thesis adopts the methods of comparative analysis and Content analysis.Choosing and studying all weibo related to Xi Jinping in the official microblog of "People’s Daily" and all tweets related to Obama in the official Twitter account of "The Washington Post" from 2012.11-2016.10.Then from two aspects of media platform and the top leader of the state to research the specific similarities and differences in the image dissemination of the top leader between China and American.Further to analysis the presentation of the image of Xi Jinping and Obama on diplomacy,state administration,social management and personal life in 4 years.To media,first it should moderately increase the exposure of the top leader in microblog and provide in-depth content entry as much as possible.Second,to break some inertial thinking in taking photos and to display multifaceted stereoscopic images of the top leader.Third,in agenda setting,the proportion of the social field should be appropriately raised,and the specific topics in the individual field should be enriched as much as possible.The top leader should be moderately relaxed and free on some occasions in clothes and behaviors firstly.Second,he can enhance the relevance of different discourse styles in addition to maintaining the existing keynote.Third,in emotional controling,besides calm and kind,the emotional expression can enrich and expose.Furthermore,media and the top leader should cooperate to promote transmission of the image of the top leader.Satisfy the public expectation on the basis of authenticity,transfer and comment on rational politics and expand the deepening of perceptual politics and improve the media literacy of leaders with the help of media.More importantly,the image of the top leader should be fit with the National Image.
