The proper handling of ethnic issues is an important part of the governance of state affairs in multinational countries. It mainly involves two major aspects of ethnic development and ethnic relations. It is a long-term historical process to establish, maintain and consolidate the harmonious and harmonious co-existence of ethnic relations. The efforts made by major political forces in modern China for this purpose deserve our in-depth study today. In the period of the Democratic Revolution,China has always been in a state of inconsistency. The ethnic separatist tendency is a relatively prominent crisis at this time. Both the Chinese Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China were concerned about the issue of ethnic division during the period of the Democratic Revolution.Their important leaders and the party ' s political program have proposed the idea of opposing national division in various historical stages. In the KMT,this kind of thinking is mainly included in Sun Yat-sen's "Republican of the Five Nationalities" and "National Self-determination," Dai Jitao's "Pure Three People's Principles," and Chiang Kai-shek's "Nationalism-Clan Theory." From the aspect of the Communist Party, from the proposal of national self-determination to the construction of the "Chinese national view" to the establishment of a system of regional ethnic autonomy, the ideological essence of opposition to national division is permeated throughout. At the same time, both parties' ideas against national separatism have specific contents for the border areas.Through comparative analysis,we can find out the similarities and differences between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in opposing national separatism.Their anti-ethnic divisions have evolved along with the development of national crises. They have clearly advocated the unification of the country. As a multi-ethnic country, ethnic issues and the institutional arrangement of the state structure are intrinsically related. Both parties have had a claim. The change from federalism to unitary system.Due to differences in the class position and political ideals of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, there are differences or even oppositions in their opposition to national splittism. The fundamental lies in the fact that the Chinese Communist Party always upholds the Marxist principle of ethnic equality, and the Kuomintang attempts to achieve ethnic division and national unity throughethnic assimilation. It is impossible to establish a truly harmonious national relationship and it is contrary to the democratic pursuit of modern countries.Rethinking history can be traced to the present: It is necessary to adopt an appropriate approach for ethnic division of ideological tendencies, words and deeds, and to strengthen recognition of the great motherland and the Chinese nation. We must be vigilant against national separatist activities using religious beliefs, and must understand the connection and difference between national issues and international issues.
