Group Work Involved In The Construction Of Urban Empty Nest Elderly Mutual Assistance Network

The modern medical and health industry has made continuous progress.These objective conditions have greatly extended the life span of the elderly,which leads to the deepening of China's aging and the increase in the number of empty nesters year by year.The unique group of empty nesters has become a social group that needs more attention with the surge in numbers.Nowadays,many things are changing with each passing day.The old man's needs for the aged have also changed from material to spirit,scientific endowment is rising constantly,and the pursuit of a single long life is turned to the guarantee of higher quality of life.As the first generation of only child has entered the middle age,the problem of empty nest elderly is becoming more and more prominent,accompanied by a variety of old problems: lower family status,discrimination,increased cost of medical care,depression and loneliness,and so on,so that empty nesters are trapped in life and spirit.This paper,through the use of social support theory,summarizes the phenomenon of the lack of informal social support for the empty nest elderly in the community,and analyzes the reasons for the emergence of these phenomena.On this basis,the necessity and feasibility of using group work to intervene the informal social support network of urban empty nest elderly are discussed.From the perspective of social work,through the collection and interview of the natural status of the empty nest elderly in the L community,through the group work methods to improve the ability of the empty nest elderly to adapt to the society,to make up for the lack of family members care and to meet the needs of the elderly in the empty nest family to provide all aspects of support.The unique advantages of the group work not only provide professional services for empty nesters,but also lead to the correct understanding of the self and the life of the elderly,and can greatly improve the interpersonal relationship in the community,help the elderly to obtain cultural identity and social support,and enjoy a happy old life.Through the evaluation of group practice and activities,the group work has proved the positive role of the group work in the construction of a long-term stable and sustainable support network for the urban empty nest elderly,and to expand the practical experience of the social work involved in the old-age life of the empty nest elderly in the city.
