Group Work Is Involved In The Exploration Of The Empty-nest Elderly Mutual Aid Network

With the deepening of China's aging degree,the number of elderly couples with children leaving home increases year by year,and the number of empty nest families gradually increases.Empty nest old man's lack of social support,their living in the face of difficulties,to solve the lack of effective resources,therefore,by the method of group social work to build mutual network between the empty nest elderly,ascend empty-nesters own ability to obtain social support,helping each other and mutual assistance between strengthening empty-nesters behavior is necessary.Based on this,the author conducted an interview with empty-nesters in S community of L county,and found that the main needs of empty-nesters in L county involve three systems of micro,medium and macro,which are manifested in four aspects: elderly care and life care,social security,spiritual support and medical and health care.In order to solve these difficulties more systematically,the author takes social support theory,advantage perspective theory,social ecosystem theory and other theories as the support,and USES group work method to help empty-nesters explore and establish mutual assistance network.The study found that after 5 group activities,the mutual assistance network of empty-nesters was preliminarily established,the number of helping and receiving assistance of the group members increased significantly,and the difficulties they faced were alleviated.The intervention of group work had certain effectiveness.Other things being limited,one way to alleviate some of the plight of empty-nesters is through informal mutual support networks.
