Research On Forster's Reconstruction Of "Marx's Theory Of Metabolic Rift"

Facing the current situation of ecological crisis and the historical situation of Marx's ecological thoughts,the Marxian of North American Ecology,John Bellamy Foster excavates the ecological thought of Marx and reveals the antagonism between capitalism and the ecological environment together with the reality of the ecological crisis through re-reading Marx's classic texts.This paper mainly studies Foster's reconstruction of "Marx's Theory of Metabolic Rift".By combing the development history of Marx's materialism,Forster found the important position of the concept of "Metabolic Rift" in Marx's ecological thoughts.According to Marx and Engels's exposition,Forster reinterprets Marx's concept of "Metabolism" from two meanings of ecology and society,and reconstructs the"Marx's Theory of Metabolic Rift":the essence of the Metabolic Rift under the condition of capitalism is not only the alienation of the relationship between man and nature,It also includes the alienation of social relations,which constitutes the whole alienation of the capitalist society.The high separation of urban and rural areas and the long distance market trading of the products under the conditions of capi talism are only the cause of the appearance of the change of material transformation.The real root lies in the capitalist system and its mode of production;Marx's idea of communism has always been associated with sustainable development.Only by eliminating the alienation of natural alienation and human beings at the same time can we truly repair the fracture and realize the sustainable development of man and nature and go to the Communist society.On this basis,Forster further criticizes the anti-ecological nature of capitalism,and thinks that the capitalist system and its unique mode of production are not only the ultimate cause of the transformation of biomass,but also the culprit of the ecological crisis.Its inherent expansionary nature makes it impossible to truly solve the ecological crisis.Therefore,the elimination of ecological crisis needs to radically transform the capitalist system and its entire social relationship.The value of Forster's reconstruction of "Marx's Theory of Metabolic Rift" is that on one hand,it proves the ecology of Marx thought,enriches and develops Eco-Marxism.On the other hand,he always emphasizes that the society,human and nature are an organic unity,which can not be ignored Value in the construction of China's ecological civilization.
