More than 90%of exchanges around the world are made by sea.This reality is just a part of the consequences of major discoveries that have marked the true beginning of globalization since the sixteenth century.The various cargoes carried have for a long time whetted the appetite of those who are commonly called seas robbers or pirates.The maritime sub region of the gulf of Guinea,because of the rise of this phenomenon is the crossroads considering many questions made daily about the issue of piracy and crimes on sea.This paper is a contribution to better understand the living reality that has taken hold and affects marine areas,port and by extension the economy of the region.A review of the situation shows that the attacks,assaults and robberies are on the rise and spread.This situation doesn't let unconcerned the institutional actors who never fail to response.
