The Liao Dynasty established by the Khitan people once made a sensation. With the destruction of the Liao Dynasty, the Khitan people gradually faded out of people’s vision. The Manggudai family is a descendant of the Khitan. The Manggudai is the ancestor of the Khitan descendants who settled in Yunnan. It was the hero of the frontier at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and died in the army in 1307 AD.The Manggudai himself was born in a prominent military power family.Among the family ancestors that can be accurately identified, there are three generations of ancestors who have great military power in the Yuan Dynasty, and there are not only direct ancestors, but also blood relatives in the family. After many years of scholars ’investigation and research on the descendants of the Manggudai,it is certain that there are a large number of Khitan descendants in Baoshan City, but whether or not they belong to the descendants of the Yelv Abaoji remains to be verified. After the author’s many field investigations and the research results of other predecessors,It is also certain that they belong to the Khitan people of the Yuan Dynasty and that the descendants of the Manggudai are also certain. This family has lived in Yunnan Province for more than seven hundred years since the Yuan Dynasty, during the Yuan,Ming,Qing,Republic of China and People’s Republic of China periods.During this period, this family has made outstanding contributions to the establishment of the Western Yunnan border area.It has left its own footprints in the historical development of Western Yunnan. The full text is divided into three parts:The first part introduces the history and current situation of Longdong Village:Adulu, who was called by the villagers as "the old ancestor of Ashi",stayed in Longdong Village after leaving the state of Guangyizhou during the Ming Dynasty. The most important reason for choosing Longdong Village is The quality of water resources here.According to the existing inscriptions in Longdong Village(especially the smallKhitan’words on the inscriptions and tombstones in the Qing Dynasty),"Always a good name" and "Family Archives",the family memory of residents of Longdong Village,a descendant of the Manggudai,is discussed. The second part mainly discusses the historical records of Manggudai and descendants from the Yuan to the Republic of China. In the Yuan Dynasty, when Manggudai settled in Yunnan,he was the famous name of the Yunnan.During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the descendants of Manggudai served as local officials in Yunnan. After the fall of the feudal dynasty, the descendants of Manggudai have been integrated into the family of the Chinese nation. The third part narrates the social life of the villagers surnamed Jiang in Longdong Village according to the field investigation.Their social life retains a part of the family life habits: the same surname is not married,a clan living together, and A deliberate act of naming. After they settled in Longdong Village, there have also been some new changes. The formation of the "big family" culture and the "master" custom is a typical example. It is of great significance to study the family culture of the Khitan descendants and the frontier areas, and to realize the national unity and the development of the multi-ethnic group and the stability of the frontier.
