Community Day Care Center For The Elderly:the Current Situation,Difficulties,and Ways Of Improvements

With the emergence of an aging population and increasing numbers of elderly people and empty nesters,the function of family endowment gradually disintegrated and institutional pension developed unevenly.However,the community day care model integrates the advantages of the family and institutional pension,allowed older people to enjoy services in their familiar environment,which can meet needs of the elderly effectively.In order to study the development,achievement and discovery of the elderly day care center in our country,this paper collected information about the community elderly day care center through observation,in-depth interview and literature research.Firstly,though browsing the domestic and foreign related paper materials of the community senior day care center,figure out the development course of the domestic and foreign community elderly day care center.This paper selects four typical day care centers in B City,adopts the method of case study,interviews with government staff,day care centers,front-line staff and senior citizens,as well as using the community elderly care center analysis framework,to analyze the development of community elderly day care center of B city.In the process of research,there are various forms of development in the community geriatric day care center,which has its own development characteristics.But the management is not standard;and sustainable development is inadequate.The survey also found that the elderly care center in the community had a disjointed coverage of the service objects,unreasonable elderly types who were enjoying services,and the lack of care for informal caregivers.From the perspective of service content,the service of day care center has the problems of homogenization,lack of psychological comfort and lack of medical service.There are some problems in service delivery,such as imperfect management system,imperfect service facilities,insufficient talent team construction and insufficient service quality supervision;In terms of source of funds,day care center funds rely heavily on government subsidies,lack of their own hematopoiesis function,lack of initiative to seek resources,and lack of corresponding social donations.According to these findings,the paper proposes the improvement measures to promote the development of community elderly day care center,which are put forward from the perspectives of service targets,rules and regulations,personnel training,multiple financing and supporting measures.
