Research On The Social Return On Investment Of The Community Home-Based Elderly Care Center

The community home-based elderly care center refers to a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive care services for daily care,medical care,and spiritual comfort for the elderly by integrating and utilizing various social resources.Base on the situation of the aging of the population in China being more and more severe,the community home-based elderly care has become an important strategy to solve the problem of China's old-age services.As an important support for the realization of the elderly care service projects,the community home-based elderly care center plays a very important role in the community homebased elderly care system.However,due to the fact that China's community home-based elderly care is still in its infancy,there are many problems in the elderly care centers,such as uneven service quality,poor service efficiency,inefficient management,and insufficient social participation.The social value assessment of the community home-based elderly care center is not only conducive to the organization's own development and optimization,but also provides a reference for the government departments to allocate resources and formulate policies rationally.At the same time,it can encourage more social forces to participate in the development of the community home-based elderly care.The above is crucial for promoting the sustainable development of the community home-based elderly care system in China.This paper takes the social return on investment of the community home-based elderly care center as the research object,and the specific research contents are as follows:Firstly,through the literature review of community home-based elderly care and social return on investment,we have a thorough understanding of the research status at home and abroad.On the basis of the existing research,the research object is clarified and the related concepts involved are clearly defined.At the same time,the related theories of community home-based elderly care,social return on investment and social network analysis are elaborated in detail,which lay a theoretical foundation for the later research.Secondly,construct a stakeholder influence evaluation model of the community home-based elderly care center by using social network analysis method.Based on the literature analysis and expert interviews,the stakeholders of elderly care center are comprehensively identified.Then using the literature analysis and expert scoring method determines the type of network relationship of stakeholders and their relationship strength,and the evaluation indicators of the model are selected by the literature analysis.At last,the software UCnet6.0 is used to generate the social network model of stakeholders,and indicators of the overall density,centrality and cohesion subgroups are used to measure and analyze the composite relationship network of stakeholders.According to the analysis results,the core stakeholders of the community home-based elderly care center are finally obtained.Thirdly,design a social return on investment model for the community home-based elderly center.Combined with its characteristics,the social return on investment measurement model of the community home-based elderly care center is designed.Then the input-output-outcome indicators of the model are constructed throng literature analysis,grounded theory and expert questionnaires.Next using the literature analysis,expert interviews and the Global Value Exchange website designs the financial proxies of the model.At last,the deadweight,attribution and drop-off of stakeholder outcome indicators of the elderly care center are determined through the questionnaire survey.Finally,taking a community home-based care center in Nanjing as a research case,using the constructed model to measure its social return on investment rate,and analyzing its sensitivity to find out the key factors to improve the social return on investment rate.It also verifies the feasibility of the model.
