After more than half a century of development, the European Union has become the largest and most successful regional integration organization in the world, which plays an important role in the world economy and political pattern. As the largest developing country and the second largest economy in the world,China has played a more and more important role in the construction of international trade and international order in recent years. The bilateral relations between the two important actors of international relations have undergone changes, which is of more profound significance to the development of both sides. In the first decade of the 21 st century,China-EU relations have experienced the ups and downs from the "honeymoon period" of all-round deepening cooperation to conflict confrontation. It reflected the trend of bilateral relations under changes in national strength and international situation.In-depth exploration of the intrinsic factors affecting the transition of Sino-European relations during this period will provide theoretical support for the development of a mature and healthy multi-bilateral relationship. In this regard, this paper will carry out the following three aspects of research on the basis of the theory of realistic international relations, starting with the policy documents of China and the EU and the historical events of the two parties.First of all, starting from the Long-term Policy on EU-China Relations published by the European Commission in 1995,the EU has paid more and more attention to the development of bilateral relations with China, and China has also attached great importance to the EU as a rising new power. In 2003,the EU issued its fifth document on relations with China, which promoted China-EU relations into a comprehensive strategic partnership and China-EU relations reached the best stage in history. There were three main reasons for this situation. One is the changes in international situation and the development of unilateralism in the United States. The two is China, the strength of the two sides of the European Union is developing, the economic and trade, the strategy of each other, and the three are the positive impetus of the leaders of both sides. In the second aspect, from 2005 to 2006,the contradiction between China and the European Union began to appear, reflected in the economic and trade, politics, diplomacy and other fields.Showcasing the competitive relationship of trade, the EU's censure of China on issues such as human rights and Tibetan independence. The European Union questioned China's development and aid to Africa.Such conflicts intensified between China and Europe and fell to a low point in 2008.The first reason for the complication of China-EU relations lies in the change of the main body strength of both sides, the second is the return of American multilateralism, the US seeks traditional friendship with Europe, and the strategic foundation of China-EU cooperation is shaken. The third is the change of policy caused by the change of leadership.Thirdly,on the basis of an analysis of the changes in China-EU relations during the decade,we will sort out the relationship between China and the EU from 2010 to the present and analyze the internal and external factors and developments affecting the EU and China's diplomacy, and how to establish a good relationship.Orderly international and political bilateral relations and strengthening China's relations with the EU are discussed.
