The Study Of Public Security Short Films In Public Security Culture Communication

Short film,Microblog and Wechat,all used as tools for the propagation of security public culture,can be summarized as “Three Ways of Propagation”.Regarded as a brand-new means of propagating public security culture,public security short film(PSSF)has fully taken advantage of the wide-spread netizens.Besides,it has actively adapted itself to the habits of today's netizens.Thus,PSSF has received the acceptance and recognition from people because of its short duration,convenience for watching and other characteristics.It is comparatively easy and cheap to shoot a PPSF because sources mainly come from authentic public security work and the lives of polices.Therefore,many polices can record their familiar lives via shooting a short film because materials are easily accessible.The number of PSSF has been surging these years.Besides,two nation-wide “Three Ways of Propagation” competition have been held by the Public Security of China.During the competition,many excellent works were shown.This competition,serving as an opportunity open to every police,looks forward to more amazing works created by those talented police members.In this way,the spirit and culture of public security can be propagated.This thesis mainly focuses on the role PSSF plays in the propagation of public security culture.By consulting literature,it seeks supporting theories from different disciplines.In addition,through the analysis of and the comparison among different short films,it summarizes the key points for the successful production of PSSF and it also tries to sum up some challenges confronted by PSSF.Furthermore,this thesis attempts to analyze those challenges in hope of finding solutions so that PSSF can develop and serve better for the propagation of public security culture.This thesis consists of five chapters.First chapter introduces the background,purposes and significance of this research.Additionally,a literature review is presented.It also provides an introduction to its research methods,innovations and difficulties.Chapter two firstly introduces the concept and characteristics of PSSF.Then,it seeks supporting theories from various disciplines in order to provide a theoretical framework for the analysis of the role PSSF plays in the propagation of public security culture.Chapter three demonstrates the significance of PSSF.Additionally,it analyzes the artistic expression and content of PSSF by applying theories from Video Science,Communication Science and some other disciplines.Chapter four analyzes the challenges confronted by PSSF and the reasons.Through a detailed analysis,it sums up some weakness points.A discussion of those reasons is followed based on the analysis of reality.The reasons are as follows: the shortage of public security micro film subject,the difficult to grasp the boundary of the micro film subject,the less ways of the profit of the video operators,the shortage of professional production personnel and the difficult to quantify the soft power of the public security culture.Chapter five displays some possible solutions to the above mentioned challenges.In view of the above difficulties and reasons,we should optimize the organizational support,enrich the material selection type,and strictly review the content before making the production.In the production,we should go deep into the front line,pay attention to details,cooperate with the professional organizations,and so on.After the production,we should strengthen the promotion and feedback collection and so on,and the eleven ways to improve the three levels.
