Institutional Environment,Political Association And Open Innovation Of Resource-based Enterprises

Today,with the highly globalized economy,open innovation has become the mainstream model for enterprises to enhance their innovative performance.In order to adapt to the innovation trend of globalization and seek survival and development in a highly changing market environment,the resource-based enterprises need to strengthen cooperation with the external innovation sources and adopt an open innovation model.However,the open innovation of resource-based enterprises should be based on the external institutional environment,so the quality of the institutional environment directly determines the choice of the innovation mode of the resource-based enterprises.And it promotes the open innovation of the resource-based enterprises.However,because our resource-based enterprises are state-owned enterprises,they have a strong political association with the government.Political association will lead to the tendency to overinvest in the resource-based enterprises,reduce the difficulty of the market competition and restrict the innovation behavior of the enterprises.Therefore,the political association will restrain the open innovation of the resource-based enterprises to a certain extent.Under the combined action of institutional environment and political association,whether resource-based enterprises will still choose open innovation is a matter of concern.Therefore,this paper studies from the following four aspects: firstly,on the basis of the research background,the theoretical foundation and research framework of this paper are set up through the theory discussion of technological innovation,institutional theory and resource dependence theory.And the paper discusses the open innovation of resource-based enterprises and the institutional environment and political association from the theoretical point of view.The relationship and internal mechanism of interaction.Secondly,on the basis of the theoretical framework,combining the characteristics of the external institutional environment of the resource-based enterprise,the paper draws the three institutional dimensions that affects its open innovation,and then combines the political association to construct the research model and puts forward the research hypothesis.Thirdly,according to the data of A shares listed companies of 94 resource-based enterprises,this paper carries out an empirical analysis and gets the following three conclusions:(1)the improvement of the institutional environment can promote the open innovation of the resource-based enterprise;(2)the political association inhibits the open innovation of the resourcebased enterprise;(3)the political association weakens the promotion of institutional environment to open innovation of resource-based enterprise.In another word,the political association have the negative moderating effect between the institutional environment and open innovation of resource-based enterprise.Finally,according to the empirical conclusions,we put forward policy recommendations for resource-based enterprises,and make prospects for future research.
