Research On The Influencing Factors And Practice Paths Of The Elderly Volunteers’ Continuous Participation In Community Volunteer Service

Since the 21 st century,China has entered an aging society,with a large number of elderly people,aging fast,fierce and seriously restrict the development of China’s social pension system.The elderly have a wealth of knowledge and relationship capital,which has the characteristics of little investment,quick effect and out-of-the-box.As community home care becomes an important part of pension mode in China,on the basis of community and the way of providing voluntary service,research the status of the elderly in the community volunteer service participation,reveal the influencing factors of elderly volunteers continue to participate in the community volunteer service,and then sum up the paths of promoting the elderly volunteers continue to participate in community volunteer service offers a new research perspective for the elderly social work,also provide reference for promoting specific policies of the senior`s participation.This paper explores the status quo of elderly volunteers’ participation in community volunteer service,the influencing factors of continuous participation and its practice paths through quantitative research and qualitative research.Based on a questionnaire survey of 354 elderly people in Chongqing,the author collected data from several social workers and long-term volunteers in the project of Le he home,Enjoy sang Yu and other projects.Under the premise of defining the current situation and influencing factors,we take the asset based community development theory as the analytical framework,and explore the sustainable development path of the elderly volunteer service from three levels of trust,network and norms.The study found that: at the status level,the elderly volunteer service in Chongqing’s popularity is not high,the number of elderly volunteers and their teams scarce,voluntary service provided is still stuck in the old elite level,facing three difficulties including the concept of old-age pension is passive,the support platform is vacant,and necessary regulations are not perfect,resulting in community elderly volunteer service is difficult to sustainable development.At the influential factors level,satisfaction of personal motivation,support from important persons and advanced concept of community work together to build the shared meaning support system,the volunteer team cultivation system led by social workers organizations and community committees under the linkage mechanism of the three agencies,local governments and volunteer teams themselves’ regulations maintenance system will affect the sustainability of senior voluntary service.At the sustainable development paths level,those should be done(1)to carry out community education actively and effectively to strengthen social trust;(2)by seeking professional technical support,relying on the social organization of the community committee to clear the service demand,open online and offline communication channels,multiple paths of gaining economic support to build community volunteer service platform;(3)provide the necessary legislation by the local government,set up a scientific volunteer organization structure,establish a sound volunteer training incentive system to standardize the system of continuous operation of the elderly volunteer team.
