The innovation of laser phototypesetting technology makes typeface from the type era into the computer era.With the popularity of computers,computer fonts have become an indispensable tool for daily communication.The practical function of it often make people ignore attached to the value of intellectual property piracy activities,large-scale development of the computer font It is often seen.,hit the industry.The blank of relevant laws and regulations makes it impossible for the courts to deal with such infringement disputes in judicial practice,and the theorists are not sure what kind of protection computer fonts should be,which makes the development of computer font industry difficult.Fall into a low tide.Therefore,how to protect computer fonts in law has become an important issue.This paper tries hard to discuss the property of computer font from the angle of copyright protection,and bring it into the object of copyright protection without infringing the public interest,so as to protect the healthy development of computer font industry.The first chapter mainly introduces the basic problems of computer font protection.On the basis of clarifying the similar concepts of computer font,font shape and font library,this paper summarizes the main forms of the infringement dispute in the font industry by analyzing the process of computer font design,and leads to the problems of the research in this paper that can computer fonts be copyrighted and if the copyright is protected,how to balance the interests of computer font developers and users to achieve a win-win situation?On the basis of the problems raised in the first part,the second chapter analyzes the difficulties encountered in the process of computer font protection.Respectively from the lack of legislation,judicial practice can not be followed by the trial caused by inconsistent,font industry development of the status,analysis of the bottleneck of computer font protection,for the following to solve the problem.The third chapter introduces the protection mode of computer fonts.In order to provide reference for the protection of computer fonts in China,this paper compares the protection modes of the United States,Britain,Japan and Taiwan,based on the national conditions and the current situation of the development of computer font industry.The fourth chapter of this paper puts forward the problems in the previous article,analyzes the predicament,and points out the way out for the protection of the computer font in China on the basis of using the computer font protection mode for reference.It is regarded as the object of copyright protection.This paper discusses the properties of computer fonts,and gives copyright protection to computer fonts on the premise of not infringing the public interest.At the same time,pay attention to balance computer font protection and computer font industry development.This is the essence of the article.
