Research On The Intellectual Policy Of CPC From National Identity Perspective(1949-1956)

Chairman Zedong Mao once said: "Policy and strategy are the life of the Party." As an important part of the ruling CPC strategy,whether or not the intellectual policy's content is made and implemenated in place is an important factor directly influencing the degree of intellectuals' identity to the CPC and Nation.Correct intellectual policy will not only effectively enhance intellectuals' emotional dependence on countries,enhance their enthusiasm and creativity in national construction,but will also play an important role in promoting socialist modernization process.In the early days of new China when domestic and foreign environment was complicated and changeable,the resumption of national economy and the consolidation of newborn people's power were in urgent need of support from intellectuals.How to effectively construct and cultivate intellectuals' national identity,and how to fully exert the enthusiasm and creativity of intellectuals to participate in socialist construction undertakings becomes the main concern of the CPC when making intellectual policy.On the basis of understanding and summarizing the nature and characteristics of intellectuals,the CPC has formulated,adjusted and perfected a series of policies to lead the intellectuals to see the great changes in social status,material life and political thoughts after new China was established.Making solidarity education reform policy for old intellectuals,making plan for cultivating new intellectuals,holding conference to discuss about intellectuals' problem and "hundred flowers blossom and hundred schools of thought contend" policy are some examples.These positive changes gave the intellectuals confidence about the future of new China,made them increasingly inclined to new people's power from consciousness and emotion and safeguard the legitimacy of new regime.In such ways intellectuals' identity to the CPC and nation is effectively built and so they will actively participate in modernization construction of new China and contribute to the development of socialism.The nation will thrive when the intellectuals thrive.Currently China is at a crucial period of building a prosperous society.Under new historical conditions,our Party should attach greater importance to intellectuals' role and pay attention to cultivating intellectuals' national identity to make them the contributing force of realizing China Dream.With a look to the past,we can derive enlightenment in several aspects that the CPC needs to consider when formulating intellectual policy.First of all is to establish scientific view towards intellectuals,that is to have an overall picture of the important role that intellectuals play in socialist modernization,which is an important prerequisite for formulating correct policy towards intellectuals.The second enlightenment is to create more humanistic care for intellectuals to make them feel warm,and to provide emotional accumulation for cultivating their national identity.The last enlightenment is to actively work on intellectuals' ideological and political education,so as to promote their ideological and political awareness and promote their identity to the Party and government.
