In recent years, voluntary spirit has become an important social ideological trend and action guidance in the social construction. It’s not only an important symbol standing for the progress of human civilization, but also an essential form to cultivate civic consciousness and promote the development of social organization. However, with the rapid development of the voluntary service, the high turnover rate of volunteers and the discontinuous service behavior has severely restricted the smooth going of voluntary projects and the long-term development of non-profit organizations, which has caused the phenomena of “voluntary failure” to a certain extent. Therefore,it’s an urgent problem to maintain the stability of volunteers and elevate the sustainability of voluntary behavior. On the theoretical basis of the model of sustained volunteerism and the theory of role identity, this paper analyzed the influencing factors of the sustainability of voluntary behavior from the aspects of personal traits and organization.Based on the empirical analysis of 305 questionnaires about voluntary behavior,we found that the personal traits factors and organizational factors worked together to affect the sustainability of voluntary behavior. In the aspect of personal traits, egoistic motives had significant negative effect on the sustainability of voluntary behavior. In the aspect of organization, organizational reputation and organizational support had significant positive effect on the sustainability of voluntary behavior.Meanwhile, role identity positively correlated with the sustainability of voluntary behavior.Role identity partially mediated the relationship between organizational reputation, organizational support and the sustainability of voluntary behavior.According to the findings,we rethink from the perspective of voluntary organizations, proposing some appropriate action guidances to elevate the sustainability of voluntary behavior and maintain the stability of volunteers. |
