In recent years, along with the rapid development of urbanization, the gap between urban and rural areas has gradually widened, and in some respects, the phenomenon of irrational resource allocation has appeared, resulting in a large number of rural labor flowing into cities, and the problem of old age has gradually emerged. With the aging of the society, the problem of rural old-age care has gradually attracted the attention of the public.Localities have also begun to actively explore new models of rural old-age care and actively accumulate experience. The state, society, and academia have always attached great importance to the issue of old-age care, and some of the proposed policies have been actively implemented and achieved results. However, due to factors such as geography, economy, customs, etc.,not all measures have been effective. Moreover, since the empty nesters in rural areas belong to special groups in the elderly population, they often face a series of problems such as life, material, health and spirit, especially those whose children are not around and have no children. They are in institutions or governments. With the help, perhaps material and life are satisfied, but because of longterm unaccompanied, spiritual needs are often empty, which leads to physical and mental illness, which will lead to a series of social problems. In this context, this paper randomly selected the X village of Qidaoling Town,Chaoyang County as a pilot project.Through interviews and observations,a series of investigations were conducted on the empty nesters in X Village,Qidaoling Town, including the needs of spiritual life.As well as the daily life and health status, and the results of the survey will be collated and analyzed to understand the current situation of the empty nest elderly in X village. It is learned that the empty nesters have the problems of lacking support network, eager for family and lack of entertainment and entertainment. This paper combines the actual situation of the empty nest elderly, from the perspective of social work, through the use of social work case intervention.According to the working mode of the relevant case work,we know the theory of empowerment and the theory of socialization, and observe and record the changes of the case by using the interview method of the scale method and the observation method. After the intervention, the author evaluates and reflects on the whole case process to determine whether the case work is effective. At the end of the paper, the corresponding conclusions are drawn, and the adaptability of case work in the problem of empty nesters in rural areas is discussed, and relevant countermeasures and suggestions are proposed.Due to the uniqueness of the case work, this study may not be applicable to the problem of rural empty nesters in the general scope. The author hopes that this study can provide some reference value for the social work practice of rural empty nesters.
