International trade occupies an important place in the system of international economic relations, and from this,it is possible to judge the state of the economy as a whole. He plays a significant role in the formation and development of the country's economy. In general, foreign trade is a means by which countries can successfully develop a specialization, increase the productivity of their resources and, consequently, increase overall production. The share of trade accounts for about 80%of the total volume of international economic relations. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that international trade is one of the most developed and traditional forms of international economic relations. The analysis of the specific problems of an open economy usually begins with foreign trade as the most important form of international relations. In general terms, international trade is the means by which countries can develop a specialization, increase the productivity of their resources and thus increase total production.Sovereign states, like individuals and regions of the country, can benefit from specialization in products that they can produce with the greatest relative efficiency, and their subsequent exchange for goods that they are unable to produce efficiently themselves. In the conditions of the transitional economy of Russia, the importance of international trade increases. An unstable economy is developing under the influence of globalization processes, which implies a special role in foreign trade.Analysis of the dynamics of Russian foreign trade is significant, since Russia is currently actively fighting to improve its position in the international market, and international trade for Russia is the main source of funds for raising the national economy and solving domestic economic and social problems. Thus, the study of the essence, dynamics, and structure of foreign trade is an important element in determining the state of the economy as a whole.Problems of forming approaches to the interaction of Russia and the OECD are today one of the most debatable in the theory and practice of international economic relations. The 36 member countries of the Organization,in which only 18%of the world's population lives, account for about 60%of world GDP.The OECD is considered to be the union of the most developed countries-the "locomotive" of the world economy. It is within its framework that, firstly, the regulation of all questions of the evolution of the world economy is c.arried out.Secondly, the coordination of macroeconomic policies of the largest countries in the world.Third, the development of mechanisms for solving emerging global economic problemsIn this paper, the gravitational model of the export stream of Russia to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD)is used.Data for OECD countries and the Russian Federation were collected over a period of 16 years(2001-2017).In this research,a regression data panel was used to analyze the results in the study. The random effects model was selected based on the results of the Hausman test.A data regression panel was conducted to analyze the results of the study.Use the OLS pool to understand the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The results of the combined OLS show that the GDP of importing countries is significant and has a positive effect on Russian exports. The results of random effects are very similar to OLS with the exception of the variables FDI and Distance. In accordance with the gravity model of Russian exports, the results of the random effect model show that the GDP of importing countries is significant and has a positive effect on Russian exports. The FTA(Free Trade Agreement)ratio is significant with a positive ratio. The common language coefficient is statistically significant, which implies the positive effect of having a common language for Russian exports.
