Research On China's Economic Assistance To Laos Since The 21~st Century

Foreign economic assistance is the key content of international relations and one of the important diplomatic activities of today's sovereign countries.It plays a role in demonstrating the country's comprehensive strength and enhancing its international influence.To a certain extent,the level of foreign aid has become one of the important factors in judging a country's international contribution and international influence.China has now become Laos' largest aid country.China's economic assistance to Laos and its extensive field have a strong typicality in the field of foreign aid in the world.In China's economic assistance to Laos,there are both successful experiences worthy of summing up and promotion,as well as lessons worthy of reflection and improvement.This article first reviews the history of China's economic assistance to Laos.It divides China's aid history to Laos in 1956-1999 into five periods.Secondly,it analyzes the development of China's economic assistance to Laos since the 21 st century,including assistance profiles and motivations.And features.Third,an assessment of China's economic assistance to Laos,including achievements and problems.Finally,this paper puts forward proposals to strengthen China's economic assistance to Laos,including: promoting domestic foreign economic assistance legislation,accelerating the pace of foreign economic assistance system construction;researching sound development of foreign economic assistance;and improving the decision-making management evaluation mechanism for foreign economic assistance.Construction;give full play to the role ofChinese civil organizations in economic assistance to Laos;strengthen the training of staff in aid projects in Laos.The research in this paper helps to theoretically explain China's policies and behaviors on Laos' economic assistance,and analyzes the historical development of China's economic assistance to Laos in practice and the achievements and shortcomings of China's economic assistance.Providing certain theoretical guidance can also better promote the development of Laos.
