The Research On Energy Cooperation Between China And Central Asian Countries From The Perspective Of Geopolitics

Central Asia is located in the heart of Eurasia.Its strategic position in energy geology is prominent.Because of its rich oil and gas resources,it is also known as the"energy base of the 21st century" and its position in the world's energy supply and energy geopolitical structure rising obviously.Central Asia's energy is of great significance to safeguarding China's energy security.Central Asia's energy can promote the diversification of China's energy imports,reducing its dependence on Middle East oil and the Straits of Malacca,and also meeting the fast-growing domestic economy,while also promoting further opening up and development in the western region.The Shanghai Cooperation Organization provides a good platform for cooperation between China and Central Asian countries for multilateral energy cooperation.The Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative provides a new opportunity for China and Central Asian countries to develop energy cooperation,helping China and Central Asian countries to achieve complementary advantages,promoting the further development of China and Central Asian countries,and further deepening cooperation.The relationship among Central Asia Countries are further harmonious and contri'butes to the development of inter-regional multilateral mechanisms.Although the energy cooperation between China and Central Asian countries has a profound geopolitical basis,geopolitical risks still exist—the energy-geopolitical game between the United States,Russia,and the EU;the political and economic system of Central Asian countries.Although extreme religious forces have been hit in recent years,there is still a soil for extremist forces to survive,extreme religious activities still existing,and extreme ideas still spreading.To a certain extent,it will hinder energy cooperation between China and Central Asian countries.Where there is cooperation,there is gain;where there is strife,there is loss.Therefore,only when the parties work together to seek common energy cooperation plans can we achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
