In the age of cold war,by virtue of its strong nuclear power the United States once succeeded in expanding its nuclear deterrence security to its allies on a worldwide level, which not only protected its allies from threats facing them, but also to some extent strengthened the dependency relationships between America and its allies, strengthened the liaison of interests between America and its allies, and also cemented the existence of mutual strategic interests between them. This is a policy of killing two birds with one stone.Along with the end of cold war comes the desalination of competition in the field of ideology among countries, though. There exists the threats and challenge facing the international order, which influences the health and balance of international order from time to time.Along with emergence and manipulation of the mass destruction weapons as well as its marketing, the allied countries of America with limited military power even more desired for entrust their national defense to America. Thus, the extended deterrence has also become an important trust for the defense and security of US Allies.Since its inception day,the US has not ceased its operation of extended deterrence strategy on a global scale. In December 1954,the US Senate approved the US-ROK Mutual Defense Treaty with a majority of favor votes.Since then the US-ROK alliance was formally established.Except its strategic importance in terms of military, most of all, through the establishment of US-ROK military Allies, justifiably USA incorporated ROK not only has great military significance, more importantly,it has incorporated ROK into the US East Asian security system,an important carrier for the implementation of the extended deterrence strategy of the United States in northeast Asia. The signing of the US-ROK Joint Defense Treaty marks that the US-South Korea alliance will become an important link in the planning of the US military alliance in Northeast Asia. This paper takes as an example THAAD into ROK to fully interpret the extended deterrence strategy implemented by the United States in Northeast Asia after the Cold War.Due to ROK's special geographical location, the United States' regional strategic advancement is bound to affect China-ROK relations,on top of that,THAAD is essentially an important part of the US MD system. The United States claims to deploy THAAD in the ROK in response to the DPRK nuclear issue. Moreover, the issue of THAAD has gone beyond the security field and has risen to the focus of regional international politics. On the other hand, with the rapid development of the world economic globalization, the national identity of ROK is on an unprecedented rise.ROK is eager to have its own voice heard on the part of military cooperation, regional defense and historical issues, and simultaneously the US-ROK alliance has begun their adjustment and transformation.ROK has realized the importance of keeping pace with the world economic development trend of economic globalization and regional cooperation integration. Therefore, under the background of THAAD entry into the ROK,the communication between China and the ROK is in a low ebb.In combination with the general trend of international development, how to effectively re-establish the official communication direction with the ROK government and redefine the future of Sino-Korea relations has become the focus of our current attention.
