This thesis analyzes the obstacles and opportunities of South Korea's participation in the Chinese government's initiative One Belt One Road(OBOR).The task of writing this work is to study the opportunities that the concept of OBOR opens for PRC-ROK relations, analyze the base for Sino-Korean cooperation under OBOR projects and point out what obstacles and complications both countries might face. The study is based on the assumption, that South Korean participation in OBOR initia-tive is beneficial for both China and South Korea and can affect not only the dynamics of bilat-eral relations, but also the situation in the region.Today both the PRC and the ROC concentrate on developing their economic potential,so they will make joint efforts to eliminate obstacles for South Korea's involvement in the project, such as THADD problem and South Korean al-ternative project-Eurasian initiative. The conceptual framework of the thesis is OBOR as the global concept that aims to connect the world through infrastructure. At the micro level, the research analyzes South Kore-an place in OBOR in two spheres of Sino-Korean cooperation-economic and political.
