A Study On The Coordination Of The Economic Growth And The Happiness Development In Chongqing

The GDP growth rate of Chongqing in the last 20 years(1997-2016)ranked first in the country,but the city's residents are far from ideal happiness levels.The 12 th annual survey of economic life,that co-sponsored by the national bureau of statistics(NBS)and China central television(CCTV),only ranked Chongqing as the fifth and seventh happiest cities in China in 2010 and 2011 respectively.From 2014 to 2016,Chongqing witnessed rapid economic growth,but it was not seen in the list.To some extent,it shows that Chongqing's economic growth and happiness development of resident have not achieved coordinated development.In this context,this paper constructs a happiness development index system to measure the level of happiness development in Chongqing,and further analyzes the coordination between economic growth and happiness development in this city.The logic of this paper is as follows:Firstly,reviewed and briefly introduced the related research at home and abroad,and lists the basic theory of happiness development and economic growth,then,tease out the logic of this paper.Finally,defining the core concepts,such as economic growth,happiness development and coordinated development.This constitutes the theoretical basis of this paper.Secondly,based on the existing research results and theories,establish the index system of happiness development,and calculate the happiness development index of Chongqing,to analyze the level and dynamic trend of happiness development in this city.Based on this,the grey correlation model and TAPIO decoupling model are further constructed to conduct an empirical analysis on the coordination between economic growth and happiness development,so as to find out the prominent performance that leads to the low coordination between economic growth and happiness development in Chongqing.The study found that,(1)The economy of Chongqing is in a state ofcontinuous growth.During the research period,the average GDP growth rate of Chongqing ranks the first in China,and per capita GDP is also in a state of continuous growth,rising from the 18 th to the 10 th over the 31 provinces(cities)in China.(2)the happiness development level of Chongqing ranks 18 th among the 31 provinces(cities)in China,and the Development of living standards ranks 10 th and the environmental development level ranks 9th.Both of them are above the national average level,which plays a certain role in promoting the happiness development of this city.The level of social development ranks 26 th,the level of cultural development ranks 26 th,and the level of healthy development ranks 18 th,all below the national average level,which has a certain inhibitory effect on the city's happiness development.(3)the coordination between economic growth and happiness development in Chongqing is not high,and the coordination between economic growth and material life development,social development,environmental development,cultural development and healthy development is ranked as follows: social development > environmental development >life development > healthy development > cultural development.(4)there are five major problems leading to the incongruity between economic growth and happiness development in Chongqing,the resident income cannot realize the stable growth;the employment is relatively high;environmental governance capacity is not high,environmental governance is not enough;insufficient public cultural resources and insufficient government support for cultural undertakings;the mortality rate is relatively high and residents' health level is not high.Thirdly,based on the empirical results above all,based on the concept of people's happiness,two sessions,and the five development philosophy,combined with the problems,put forward to improve the city's economic growth and happiness with the balanced development of countermeasures and suggestions:(1)to achieve stable growth of residents' income;(2)focus on promoting employment of urban and rural residents;(3)strengthen environmental governance;(4)improve the level of public cultural services;(5)increase investment in medical construction.Based on the existing research results,this paper absorbs the essence of the topic from a novel perspective,condenses the core elements of regional happiness development,and builds a regional happiness development index system based on this.In addition,used the subjective life satisfactionof Chongqing residents to verify the happiness development index calculated in this paper,which makes up for the one-sidedness of the index system of happiness development in this paper,which only considers the objective material conditions but ignores the subjective feelings of residents.
