Marx's Theory Of Division Of Labor And Its Contemporary Value

Division of labor is one of the most important phenomena in human society,weaving through the development of human history.At present,both international and domestic division of labor is evolving more rapidly,with more diverse forms and deeper influence.But such dynamism is coupled with more issues,such as the growing uncertainties and destabilizing factor dampening the prospect of international division of labor,the unbalance and inadequacy hindering the development of domestic division of labor.Undoubtedly,on how to interpret the essential law and actual influence of division of labor,Karl Marx's theory of division of labor possesses crucial theoretical significance and realistic enlightenment.So,the purpose of this paper is to study on Marx's theory of division of labor and its contemporary value.The research methodology mainly combines literature,comparison and logic-historic methods.The primary conclusions are as follows.First,this theory presents a clear formation and development vein.This paper summarizes its evolution process into five stages:germination,establishment,enrichment,development and sublimation.Second,as a relatively complete theoretical system,this theory is rich in scientific content.Marx clarified the essence and influence of division of labor from the aspects of social structural factors,specific economic activities,and human development.At the level of social structure,Marx interpreted the intrinsic relationship between division of labor and the development of productive forces,the shaping of productive relations,the emergence and transform of superstructures.At the level of specific economic activities,Marx expounded on the multiple possibilities and realities between division of labor and direct production,market exchange,product distribution and material consumption.At the level of human development,Marx presented the causal link between the type of division of labor and the type of human development.One-sided development of human beings is correlated with passive division of labor,while overall development of human beings is correlated with initiative division of labor.Third,this theory is still powerful in both deciphering historical phenomenon and reading current trends,such as analyzing the development of international and domestic division of labor in our time.This theory also points out the way of future development of division of labor,which is provided with irreplaceable contemporary value.
