A Comparative Study Of China's National Image And America's

The relations between China,India and the United States have been in an unstable state.At present,India has replaced China as the fastest developing country in the world,and its international influence is increasing day by day.It has put a great effect on Sino-Indian,US-Indian and China-India-US relations.As an important Indian media,how does The Times of India report on China and the United States?What kind of images have these reports created in China and the United States? Using content analysis and text analysis,this paper took The Times of India as the research object,and made an analysis of China-related reports and US-related reports in The Indian Times from October 18,2017 to October 18,2018.It explored and compared the images of China and the United States presented by the mainstream Indian newspapers.In this study,it was found that the number of reports on China's foreign relations in The Times of India report on China is larger than that on China's domestic affairs.,and it was mainly focusing on China's politics and society,as well as the relations between China and the United States,India and Pakistan.From the point of view of its tendency,its negative report is far greater than its positive report,and its report is mainly negative and objective.The Times of India report on the United States is different from that of China.The number of reports on domestic affairs in the United States is greater than that on foreign relations in the United States.The main concern was the political and social aspects of the United States,as well as the relations between the United States and India,the Korean Peninsula,Pakistan and China and other countries.As far as its tendency is concerned,the number of negative reports is also much greater than the number of positive reports,but objective reports and negative reports are the same.The Times of India mainly presents an comprehensive image of China,with its totalitarian system being strengthened in an all-round way,social problems emerging in an endless stream and all-round development,which is taking off and is "flexible and changeable".It also portrays an image of the United States,which is characterized by partisan disputes,complex social problems,"unreliable" and safeguarding global peace and security.
