Confucius’ moral education thought is an important part of traditional Chinese moral education thought,which contains rich ideological and moral resources.At present,socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and China in the new era is in a critical period of transformation from being rich to strong.There is an urgent need to address the problem of inadequate and unbalanced development,among which is the need to raise the moral standards of the whole society.As the saying goes,people do not stand without virtue,the country does not rise without virtue.To realize the bright prospect of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,we must work hard to promote socialist core values and strengthen socialist moral construction.Studying Confucius’ thought of moral education is helpful to the perfection of moral education and the improvement of citizens’ moral quality.This paper mainly includes the following parts:The first part mainly discusses the background of Confucius’ moral education thought.During the spring and autumn period,the improvement of productivity level and the development of business,the disintegration of the patriarchal system and the collapse of rites and music,the relatively complete system of rites of the zhou dynasty and the cultural declination gave birth to the thought of Confucius’ moral education.The second part mainly discusses the ideological system of Confucian moral education.Faced with the chaotic social situation at that time,Confucius hoped to improve people’s moral cultivation through moral education,so as to maintain the hierarchy and stabilize social order.Therefore,from the perspective of "benevolence",Confucius constructed a moral education ideological system with "benevolence" as the core of moral education,"righteousness" as the highest code of moral education,and "courtesy" as the form of moral education norms.In the concrete moral education practice,Confucius creatively proposed the very rich moral education method from the moral education and the self-cultivation two aspects,including the inspiration induces,the knowledge and the unity of knowing and doing,examines self-restraint and so on.The relatively perfect ideological system of moral education established by Confucius is of great significance for us to solve some practical moral problems,improve ideological and political education and strengthen the construction of socialist civilization.The third part mainly discusses the evaluation of Confucius’ thought of moral education.The moral education thought of Confucius has certain limitation and positive significance.In the face of Confucius’ moral education thought,we should take its essence and discard its dregs,consciously learn from the excellent part of Confucius’ moral education thought,and give play to its important role in exploring the resources of excellent traditional Chinese moral education,improving the methods of moral education and improving the level of social morality.
