In the early 20 th century,In order to form family and continue to expand the overseas Japanese community,Japanese male immigrants introduced female immigrants from Japan through "Picture Marriage",These female immigrants were called “Picture Bride”.The "Picture Bride",as an important part of the Japanese immigrant group in the early 20 th century, promoted the development of Japanese ethnic groups.Although this way of immigration was acquiesced and supported by the Japanese government,It caused criticism in American society. This article focuses on the process of the "Picture Bride" from the beginning to the end of the 20 th century, and analyzes the role of this group in the US-Japan immigration policy and the evolution of US-Japan relations. The paper includes introductions, texts, conclusions, notes, and references. The text consists of four parts.Starting from the historical and cultural background of the "Picture Bride",It traces the entry process of "Picture Bride",describes the life of "Picture Bride" in the United States, and analyzes the repercussions caused by American society. The article believes that the emergence and end of the "Picture Bride" played a role in the adjustment of the US-Japan immigration policy in the early 20 th century and the evolution of US-Japan relations. The production of "Picture Bride" was a decision made by the United States and Japan for the sake of interest in some extent. The two countries negotiated on the laws, cultures and customs involved in the "Picture Bride".Both parties had implemented strict control measures to "Picture Bride" and their husband,in order to ensure the legality of the immigration procedures. After entering the United States,"Picture Bride",in addition to taking care of housework, caring for their husband, raising children, also need to go out of work.By describing the life of "Picture Bride" in the United States,it can reflect the life of Japanese people in the United States to certain extent. The situation reveals the "Picture Bride" played a huge role in the Japanese community. However, the differences between the US and Japanese cultures, laws, and customs reflected by the "Picture Bride" phenomenon had become the targets of criticism by the US government, the public, the media, and the Anti-Japanese forces, further exacerbating the Japanese Exclusion Movement.the Japanese government considered advantages and disadvantages, finally terminated the "Picture Bride" in 1920.Subsequently,the United States passed the 1924 Immigration Act,declared the end of Japan's immigration to the United States."Picture Bride" played a vital role in the development of American and Japanese communities, and to some extent affected the development of the relationship between the United States and Japan in the early 20 th century.
