Taiyuan Smart City Construction Research

Smart city is a profound change and leap of urban development mode.Since 2008,IBM has proposed "City of Wisdom" More and more cities have opened the road of building "smart city".The upsurge of "smart city" is not rootless wood,passive water.The achievements of urban informatization construction and the rapid development of information and communication technology are the intrinsic driving force of "smart city" and the urban solutions to all kinds of urban problems nowadays.After nearly ten years of development,"Smart City" has become a global city "movement" and a new urban vision of the world's cities.Building "Taiyuan New Smart City" is an urgent need for Taiyuan City to fully implement the development concept of "innovation,coordination,green,open and sharing",implement the important work deployment of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to "implement big data strategy,develop digital economy and build smart Shanxi",enhance urban governance ability,improve people's livelihood service level and develop new economy.In recent years,Taiyuan has taken the smart city as the new fulcrum and driving force of urban transformation and upgrading.With the breakthrough point of innovating urban development mode,improving urban function quality and improving public service,it has promoted the construction of foundation and demonstration projects of smart city,carried out in-depth practice and exploration,accumulated construction experience and laid a foundation for development.Promoting the construction and management of Taiyuan's smart city to a new level is very beneficial to the transformation of the city and the improvement of the level of government affairs.It will also help the transformation of Taiyuan's urban governance model and promote the development of national economy.Based on the theory of smart city construction and management,this paper summarizes the concept and characteristics of smart city in detail,andtakes Taiyuan as the research object.Through summarizing the current situation of the construction and management of smart city in Taiyuan,this paper uses the methods of case study,investigation and analysis,literature research and logical reasoning to analyze the current situation of smart city in Taiyuan.There are some problems in city construction management,such as decentralized design,separate operation,isolated information island and open government data,lack of independent innovation concept,serious brain drain of high-tech talents,weak maintenance and operation force,and urgent need for social participation.This paper puts forward some pertinent solutions and feasible suggestions which are in line with the actual situation of Taiyuan.It is hoped that through this study,Taiyuan will make a modest contribution to the healthy,green and sustainable development,so as to realize more wisdom of the city.
