The Role Of China's Belt And Road Initiative To Promote Peace In Afghanistan

Afghanistan peace and security have been suffering from the lack of economic development,economic growth,and the high unemployment among young generation who are joining terrorists' groups not only because of ideological,but for livelihood and the high poverty in various indices in remote areas.The study contributes to highlight the benefits and challenges of the Belt and Road Initiative strategy from perspectives of peace and stability and identifies what benefits or disadvantages can apply to Afghanistan.China's OBOR/ BRI have been proposed for economic growth and development,prosperity and security,economic and political domination in the regional level which has been mentioned as strategic tools to fight against three evil(extremism,terrorism and separatism)to and global peace.Reproductive approach is being used to collect relative information and data from peacebuilding literature,strategy,report papers,and development indices in disk research.A case study has done at Kabul University and some sectoral ministries of Afghanistan to describe people's perceptions of BRI along with peace.Of which resulted in many positive advantages on Afghanistan which is a poor country in terms of development,growth,human indices and prosperity.First;Afghanistan connection with SREB applies many economic opportunities such as diversifying foreign trade,increasing and extension of exports to the south Asia,European and China's markets,accession of businessmen and investors to the sea ports of Goader,Chabahar and Bandar Abbas and helping the Afghanistan Government Infrastructure Plan in advance.Second the CPEC extension to the Central Asian Republics will cause to increase Agricultural products;resources,mines and metal industries extraction,which create livelihood,jobs,economic development,national growth and decreasing poverty.The SREB extension as an enabler of peace and security is expected to taking up the chances of youth men who is joining insurgencies and terrorism because of poverty and livelihoods.Third;BRI as a social-global through capacity upgradation,cultural exchange,awarding scholarship grand,good governance and public service improve the condition for durable peace.Forth,BRI creation and SREB implementation have increasingly induced China to support Afghanistan peacebuilding in the national level by aiding in economic development,security and military base in Northeastern province of Badakhshan and mediation and facilitating peace process in the international level.Fifth;BRI in general and SREB particularly facilitate other regional economic projects of TAPI and FNRCs what are expected to improve diplomatic relation of Afghanistan with Pakistan,and increase regional cooperation among the countries of the region in terms of infrastructure,transport,trade,security and receiving support for peace and national reconciliation.Sixth;BRI will change the attitude of regional players from destructive to constructive by coordinating their economic interests and utilizing Afghanistan geostrategic position as the Centre of Regional Trade and Transit which grants peace.Additionally,some research should be conducted on the issues of how can china invest in long-term economic and job creator projects to sustain peace and stability in Afghanistan.
