Since the implementation of China's family planning policy, the traditional concept of "son preference" and prenatal medical gender identification have led to the birth gender imbalance. In the 21 st century, the gender imbalance among people of marriageable age has gradually become prominent, and the rural areas have become the most affected areas of the gender imbalance of marriageable age, that is,the problem of leftover men in rural areas. For a long time, the issue of urban leftover women has been the focus of attention of people from all walks of life, while the issue of rural leftover men has been ignored by people. Therefore, this paper chooses to discuss the issue of rural leftover men, hoping to improve people's understanding and attention to the issue of rural leftover men through discussion.Due to the backlog of gender imbalance at birth in China, the total number of unmarried males in China is far more than that of unmarried females, and the surplus of unmarried males is mainly concentrated in rural areas. Therefore, this part of unmarried males is defined as surplus males in rural areas. As for the research on the problem of leftover men, domestic researches are mainly carried out from several aspects, such as the plight of leftover men,the causes and the governance of the problem, while foreign researches are more analyzed from the perspective of psychological impact.Combined with the data of the national bureau of statistics and relevant news surveys,it is not difficult to find that the problem of rural leftover men has produced many social impacts, including: morality and ethics, social pension, social stability, early marriage, etc.,which constitute a major obstacle to the implementation of the national rural revitalization strategy. In order to further reflect and explore the current situation of the problem of leftover men in China,a field survey was conducted in Baer town,SiChuan province to analyze typical cases.SPSS binary logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of leftover men in rural areas, among which income and education background had significant influences. Finally, policies and Suggestions are put forward from the individual, community, society and government levels to deal with the problem of rural leftover men in China, including raising the income level, reducing the cost ofmarriage, displaying the rural charm and improving personal quality.
