Higher education is an important indicator of a country’s development level and its potential. The needs for developing higher education in China are stronger than ever before.Teachers are the foundation of the education, and the vigorous development of education must rely on the support of high-quality teachers. However,in recent years, with the development of China’s higher education, the structure of faculty and staff has been continuously improved and optimized. At the same time as the quality and management level of colleges and universities continue to improve,it also causes a more serious phenomenon of job burnout.Foreign studies on job burnout have begun since the 1970 s,while Chinese researchers have carried out the research relatively late.In the early stage, they main method was foreign literatures include their theories and results. With the research getting deeper, domestic researchers have included a lot of local background in researching the theory, content, intervention and countermeasures of job burnout. With the help of empirical research, based on Maslach burnout inventory(MBI),the research on the domestic burnout inventory of various industries was proposed. This not only enriches the research horizon of job burnout, but also contributes to the development of burnout theory positively.Professional groups of whom specialized in serving people, such as teachers, civil servants, medical personnel, management personnel of enterprises and institutions, etc.,have received extensive attention from researchers in as psychology and organizational behavior areas. It was found that job burnout is a negative syndrome and commonly appears among people in various industries. At the perspective from certain individuals,it can cause physical discomfort, increase the risk of chronic diseases and cause negative emotions, which is harmful to physical and mental health. For the organization,it will cause negative absenteeism, intention to leave, and inevitably affect work performance. We researched on 233 administrative personnel from Nanjing universities and colleges by using questionnaires,in order to measure their burnout levels. We used statistical analysis to carry out the following work: 1)to test the overall burnout level of the ordinary administrative staff in Nanjing higher education, and the distribution of three-dimensional burnout;2)according to the T-test and one-way anova, the influence of the difference of demographic variables on the dimensions of burnout was discussed;3)using the work stress source scale to analyze the correlation of its dimensions and the three-dimensionality of job burnout. We have concluded that 1)the overall detection rate of job burnout of ordinary administrative staff in Nanjing universities and colleges is 50.29%;2)there are significant differences in the dimensions of job burnout and work stress sources in the demographic variables;3)there is no significant correlation between the work environment pressure and the depersonalization dimension of job burnout, the organizational support pressure and the low personal achievement dimension, while the rest have significant correlations.
