Driven by the multiple factors including urbanization, aging and migration with family members, the population size of older migrants in China has been maintaining a large proportion.Although the overall physical health status of migrant elderly is pretty good, they still face high health risks. At the same time, due to the shrinking scale of the original social network and the difficulty of social integration in the inflow areas,it is particularly important to study the impact of social interaction on their physical health.Based on the health socialization perspective, using the data of the Dynamic Monitoring Survey of Migrant Population in 2015,through logistic regression and path analysis, this paper probes into the influence of social interaction of the older migrants on their self-rated physical health in the inflow areas, and also analyses the extrinsic mechanism of the self-rated health effect of social interaction. Finally, the conditionality of the self-rated health effect of social interaction and its mechanism is analyzed from the perspective of age difference. It is found that social interaction has a significant positive impact on the self-rated physical health of the migrant elderly, and the self-rated health effect of social interaction is embedded in the household registration system through two different ways. One is the direct effect of household registration system, and another is the indirect effect of the system that the family capital is in the middle position. In addition, the social interaction self-rated health effect of the migrant elderly and its household registration system embedding mechanism also have age conditionality: the self-rated health effect of social interaction only exists in the younger group and the middle-aged group;the household registration system embedding mechanism is most obvious in the middle-aged group, followed by the young group, and it has no statistical significance in the elder group.Based on this, relevant health policy should consider speeding up the Reform of the Household Registration System for the migrant population and strengthening the social interaction between the older migrants and the local residents in the inflow areas in order to maintain the health of the population.
