Research On David Harvey's Thought Of Eco-socialism

As a neo-Marxist scholar,David Harvey abandoned the Cartesian rigid method of separating nature and culture artificially,and further revealed the erosion and plunder of global space by capital logic with dialectical thinking.Starting from the framework of historical-materialism,he used Marx's political and economic logic to analyze the occurrence of world geography from the perspective of political,social and environmental consequences.The changes show the creative destruction of the natural environment by human beings and its underlying causes.Harvey profoundly analyzed the contemporary discourses on nature evaluation and exposed the socio-political and economic characteristics of these discourses;Harvey advocated thinking about ecological crisis from the perspective of capital logic,trying to coordinate the relationship between natural environment and social justice with the theory of unbalanced geographical development as a tool,integrating environmental justice into social and political plans,in order to solve the ecological crisis and promote human and nature.Harmony provides a possible direction of thinking and establishes a special ecological socialist plan.This article studies Harvey's ecological socialism thought from the following aspects:Firstly,the reasons why Harvey,as a geographer,has gradually turned to the study of the current situation of ecological environment are analyzed.Harvey mainly discusses the drawbacks of traditional ecology theory and the current situation of ecological crisis.Harvey recognizes that the traditional ecology lacks the dimension of political criticism for the emergence and development of ecological crisis,and the development of capital globalization is the root cause of global ecological crisis.For this reason,Harvey constructs ecological politics from the perspective of geospatial.Secondly,it summarizes the theoretical basis and content of Harvey's ecological socialism.From three levels,first,from Harvey's critical inheritance of the traditional view of nature,comb Harvey's view of contradiction between capital and nature;second,elaborate Harvey's perspective of analyzing the relationship between man and nature;third,comb Harvey's content of social eco-politics.Thirdly,it elaborates the road plan and practical elements of Harvey's ecological socialism.This paper analyses the path of Harvey's environmental justice movement,and expounds five practical elements of Harvey's ecological socialism planning.Finally,it evaluates Harvey's thought of ecological social justice and Its Enlightenment on urban construction and development in China.Harvey's ecological thought has deepened the development of ecological justice and enriched ecological socialism in theory.While we learn Harvey's ecological thought,we should also see the idealistic limitations of Harvey's theory.
