A Study Of David Harvey’s Theory Of New Imperialism

In recent years,new imperialism has become a key topic for scholars at home and abroad.It refers to the behavior of capital and economic expansion of Western capitalist countries with the help of globalization,so as to provide more capital for the development of capitalist countries.It is the era landscape under the capitalist development mechanism.Therefore,the study of Neo imperialism is closely related to the change of the times and the development of theoretical interpretation tools.Firstly,it explores the concept,origin and related theories of Neo imperialism.This paper summarizes the imperialist theories of Rudolph hefting,Rosa Luxemburg,Lenin,Allen wood,John Bellamy Foster and Michael Hart,which provides sufficient theoretical support for the study of David Harvey’s Neo imperialist theory.Secondly,it analyzes the background and characteristics of the birth of David Harvey’s Neo imperialism theory.This paper summarizes the four characteristics of Harvey’s Neo imperialism theory,namely,advocating hegemonic logic and military politics,wantonly plundering other countries’ natural resources,manipulating the world economy for the purpose of pursuing profits,and exporting domestic values.It carries out the preliminary analysis work for the following study of Harvey’s Neo imperialism theory.Thirdly,the main contents of David Harvey’s new imperialism theory are analyzed.As for territorial logic and capital logic,it is the basis and starting point of Harvey’s study of Neo imperialism theory,reflecting the influence of geographical space on capitalist production and the dominant position of capital logic;as for deprivation accumulation,it is discussed from two aspects: the expansion of capital accumulation and the realization path of deprivation accumulation;as for time space repair theory,Harvey emphasizes its importance The theory of time space repair is an important magic weapon to solve and overcome the economic crisis;on the thought of Neo liberalism,Harvey thinks that Neo liberalism is a deceptive means taken by capitalist countries to cover up their capital expansion.Finally,it evaluates David Harvey’s Neo imperialism theory.This paper tries to put forward the positive influence and negative significance of Harvey’s new imperialism theory,and analyzes the influence of new imperialism theory on China’s development in combination with the development trend of economic globalization.Therefore,this paper mainly studies the issue of new imperialism,combined with David Harvey’s space criticism and urban justice theory,to understand the theory of new imperialism,and based on the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on new imperialism,combined with the current development of globalization and the expansion of capital and other changes,analyzes how China should deal with the challenges and challenges of contemporary globalization opportunities,and the future development of China.
