Study On Questionnaire Compilation And General Characteristics Of Police Communication Ability

The deep implementation of public security reform in our country and the transformation of the police work model put forward higher requirements for the comprehensive quality and professional ability of the police.As an important part of the necessary ability of public security police,police communication ability has attracted extensive attention from many scholars.However,the current research in this field has many problems such as insufficient theoretical research,insufficient empirical research,and lack of scientific measurement tools.The purpose of this study is to find out the overall situation and characteristics of police communication skills and to explore ways to improve police communication skills by answering these questions.This is of great significance for improving the communication ability of police and the effectiveness of police work.Based on the perspective of psychological research,this study has carried out a detailed analysis and in-depth analysis of the existing research on the connotation,structure,research methods and police communication ability of interpersonal communication skills.On this basis,the research first analyzes through literature,the open questionnaire survey,individual interviews and expert consultations and then established the theoretical model of police communication ability.After the screening of the questionnaire questions,the police communication ability questionnaire was prepared.Secondly,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used.Finally,a police communication ability structure model was formed,and a police communication ability questionnaire with good reliability and validity was compiled.The whole process of the questionnaire is strictly in accordance with the principles and requirements of scientific compilation.The questionnaire is used as a tool to analyze the current status and characteristics of the communication skills of public security police in China.On this basis,the training methods for improving police communication skills are explored.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Police communication ability is a five-factor structure model,which mainly includes five dimensions: communication skills,communication cognition,non-verbal communication,communication emotions and communication traits.(2)The Police Communication Competency Questionnaire contains 31 questions.The total questionnaire and five dimensions have good reliability and validity,which meets the basic requirements of measurement.(3)The overall communication level of police is relatively high。(4)Gender,marital status,police age and rank are the most important factors affecting police communication ability.The specifics are as follows: male police’s communication cognitive and traits are better than women’s;married police are more prominent than unmarried police in communicating skills,cognition,emotion,and traits;The communication ability of police with more than 15 years length of service is higher than that of 5 years;the communication ability of police officers at the department level and above is higher than that of staff members.
