Machiavelli On Military And Political Affairs

Machiavelli is regarded as "the first modern military writer worthy mentioning ",and his military issues are often the key part in his political analysis.At the same time,Machiavelli proposed that prince should take military skills as the "only" skill that he should master in The Prince.So what is the relationship between politics and military in Machiavelli's thought? This article regards it as the question consciousness,and then mainly selects "The Prince" as the interpretation object,by combing the research results on Machiavelli's military and political relations already existing in academic circles at home and abroad,and the conclusion is that there are two different opinions about the relationship between politics and military: identical or different,emphasizing the identical or opposites of the military-political relationship respectively.This paper is based on the existing research results,and attempts to put forward two different reasons which can explain the identical and differences between military principles and political skills: the reasons are that military principles and political skills are mutually applicable,and the virtual personality and the real personality of the prince differ.By focusing on the things above,it can explain the identical and different relations between the two at the same time.However,the relations are neither completely identical nor completely separated,it is united under a specific goal-the goal of creating a new order and new law to become a real " new prince".
