The Challenge And Countermeasure In The Development Of Interpol

As the largest and most influential law enforcement cooperative organization in the world,Interpol,who has been established for over 100 years,always adhere to the value concept of "connecting national police to make the world safer".By building an international cooperation mechanism with tools such as the I-24/7 Communication and Information Network,the notification system,the law enforcement database,as well as service projects such as action support and capacity building,Interpol has been coordinating law enforcement agencies to carry out security cooperation around the world.Based on the principles of global,neutral and professional development,Interpol has become a well-deserved intelligence communication coordinator,an enabler in law enforcement technology innovation,a non-traditional security crime striker,and a global guide in law enforcement cooperation.Global security governance is the only way to deal with non-traditional security crimes and Interpol is playing an important role as an intergovernmental organization.The international community,including 194 member states,is increasingly expecting it to dominate the struggle against such kind of crimes.However,Interpol is facing increasingly serious internal and external challenges in recent years,which contradict with the expectations and needs of the participation in global security governance.Under such circumstances,Interpol should recognize the contradiction as the fundamental driving force for the development and grasp the historical opportunities of global security governance in aim to achieve its own fulfillment.Global governance is both a practical issue and a systematic theory.From the perspective of global security governance,the study tries to analyze the obstacles and difficulties in combination with global governance theory,and gives suggestions such like ability's enhancement,mechanism's optimization,increase of member states' s participation and winwin,for Interpol's deep involvement in the process of fighting non-traditional security crimes,under the guidance of the transnational global governance research paradigm,the study expect to provide a new perspective for the further development of Interpol.
