The Study Of Interview Methods Of Child Victims In Sexual Abuse Cases

In recent years,many domestic cases of sexual abuse against children have been exposed,and the number of cases has increased year by year.However,in addition to strengthening the system building,we should pay attention to how to interview children victims of sexual abuse,for obtaining true,comprehensive and reliable victim statement,confirming the crime and obtaining more clues.At present,there is no scientific and systematic theory on the methods of interviewing children victims of sexual abuse.In view of the physical and mental characteristics of children victims and the weakness of sexual abuse victims,the lack of theory is a serious problem to criminal proceedings and minor protection in China.Therefore,the significance of this paper is through analyzing the characteristics of cases of sexual abuse against children,relying on real cases,synthesizing existing research results abroad,summarizing the difficulties of interview,to suggest some methods for interviewing children victims.The first part of the article is a systematic overview,introducing the background and significance of the research,and the definition of sexual abuse against children,and introducing the current domestic and international research on child sexual abuse.The second part analyzes the characteristics of cases of child sexual abuse,including high incidence of cases,the acquaintances committing more crimes,most of the victims being left-behind children,the suspects committing crimes not only once and using the internet to do crimes more than the past,the child sexual abuse cases being highly concealed,and the influence being extremely harmful.The third part analyzes the difficulties of interviewing children victims.These difficulties are: children's ability to perceive,memorize and express being limited,children being easy to get psychological obstacles after being hurt,children being more susceptible to the suggestion,most of the policeman's professional ability being insufficient,the policemen being not allowed to interview children for times,and the time interval between the victim's report and the crime making the interview more difficult.The fourth part analyzes the arguable aspects of the interview practice,based on real cases obtained from several police stations.The problems in the practice includes that the environment is not suitable for children victims,there is no professional staff handling cases of children,and children are repeatedly interviewed.For specific interview methods,there are problems such as lack of preparation before interview,lack of questioning logic,and improper use of language and improper types of questions.The fifth part is to provide suggestions for interviewing child victims of sexual abuse in China,including developing guidelines,building interview houses,training police officers or allowing third parties to provide support and guidance,simultaneous recording and do sufficient preparation.In specific interview methods,policeman should prepare for the interviewing.Besides,it is necessary to communicate with the child purposefully before talking about the case,use open questions through the interview,using gentle and easy-to-follow language,and require children to explain certain details of the statement.
