With the continuous aggravation of China's aging population,China's elderly population has increased sharply. In response to the pressure of the aging population, the government has put forward the "five principles" of "supporting the elderly, treating the elderly, doing something for the elderly, learning for the elderly, and enjoying the elderly".However, for empty-nesters,a special group of elderly people, the premise to achieve "something for the old, something for the old to learn and something for the old to enjoy" is to go out of the house and participate in social activities. This study conducts an empirical study on the community participation of empty-nesters,aiming to help empty-nesters get rid of the dilemma of old age and help empty-nesters regain their sense of community and find their self-value through community participation. This paper obtained first-hand materials through questionnaire survey,in-depth interview and other methods, summarized the actual needs of empty-nesters and community participation status, analyzed the influencing factors restricting community participation of empty-nesters,and explored ways for empty-nesters to actively participate in community activities outside the home.By strengthening community construction in changchun and improving the environment for empty-nesters to participate in the community,we should first vigorously develop community elderly care services and improve the elderly care level of empty-nesters.Secondly,community service facilities should be strengthened.Thirdly,we should strengthen children's education concept, change children's attitude, and encourage children to let the elderly participate in community activities.Finally,empty-nesters should be encouraged to actively participate in community activities.
