Study On The Phenomenon Of Political "Liquidation" After Democratic Transformation In South Korea

Former President Lee Myung-bak was formally arrested by a South Korean co urt for alleged corruption and taking bribes on March 22,2018.He became the fo urth former President to be jailed after Chun Doo-hwan,Roh Tae-woo and Park Ge un-hye.South Korea has been established for more than 70 years,from the first Pr esident Syngman Rhee to the last President Park Geun-hye,one of the 11 was exil ed overseas,two were overthrown,one was assassinated,one committed suicide,fo ur was arrested and two was disgraced by cronies.A succession of mishaps on pre sidents have been dubbed the "blue house curse".The abnormal circumstances of the former president of South Korea reflect the course of Korean political development.If we conduct an in-depth analysis of the miserable end of the former president of South Korea,we can easily find that duri ng the authoritarian period,the president was abnormally caused by military coups,political assassinations and other factors,and most of the tragic ending of the presi dent after the democratic transition was caused by political factions caused by politi cal "liquidation".As a kind of political behavior,the political "liquidation",which is entangled by factional struggles,has appeared many times in today's Korean political arena,and gradually developed into a phenomenon entrenched in the Korean political system.This phenomenon has seriously affected political operations and deepened the plight of South Korea in the stage of democratic consolidation.It can be said that the ph enomenon of political "liquidation" is one of the manifestations of instability in So uth Korean politics.Based on the phenomenon,this paper will firstly review the historical backgroun d and the process of democratic transformation in South Korea,and leads to the p henomenon of political "liquidation" after entering the stage of democratic consolida tion,so as to lay a background foundation for in-depth analysis of the phenomenon of political "liquidation".Then,the paper explores the system subjects participating in the political "liquidation",analyzes the causes of each subject and the impleme ntation process of the political "liquidation",and explores the essence of the politic al "liquidation".As political culture plays a guiding role in political behavior,the motivation,attitude and interest needs of the actor of political behavior can be mor e deeply understood through political culture.Therefore,by combining relevant fact ors of political culture,this paper analyzes the deep-seated causes of the phenomen on of political "liquidation" in South Korea,and tries to explore the phenomenon o f political "liquidation"comprehensively and deeply.Finally,according to the factors influencing the emergence of political "liquidation",the prospect of the phenomeno n of political "liquidation" is forecasted.
