The elderly have become one of the main user groups of WeChat social media,and one of the most commonly used functions is the WeChat moments—it has become a platform and window for the elderly to present and "watch" themselves.So what is the self-image that they present?What is more important factors affect such presentation?This is the question that the study attempts to answer.To this end,the author uses a combination of quantification and qualitative research methods.A questionnaire survey was conducted on 317 elderly people in Nanchang,supplemented by in-depth interviews to study the self-presentation of the WeChat moments and its influencing factors.The results of the study shows that "positive ideals" are the main factors for the elderly to present media image through WeChat moments,and social interaction are the main influencing factors(?=0.226.p<0.01),but this factor has a negative impact on the presentation of the negative generalized image of the WeChat moments in the elderly(?=-0.199,p<0.05),which means there may be a social paradox in the online social interaction among the elderly.The information acquisition factor is the main factor affecting the appearance of the vague image of the elderly(?=0.306,p<0.01).
