Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, new thinking and ideology from the West completely abolished Marxism-Leninism and stimulated the emergence of a new type of international relations theory in Russia. In the course of more than 20 years of theoretical research on international relations in Russia,Russian international relations theory has undergone tremendous changes.Russian scholars of international relations have mastered a lot of experience and theoretical materials and also developed many new interesting concepts and theoretical methods.Realism has gradually become one of the main ideological schools of contemporary Russian international relations theory.Since the end of the Cold War,with the rapid transformation of Russian society,Russia's foreign policy and domestic situation have attracted worldwide attention and become a hot topic of concern. But what is Russian international relations theory itself, still only few people can answer this question. To put it simply, contemporary Russian theory of international relations, especially Russian realism school, have not received much attention and lack detailed and in-depth research, both inside and outside Russia. As an international student,I love both Russia and China.Through the analysis of Chinese,Russian and Western literature,I have researched the main topics of contemporary Russian realism theory of international relations, the different views of key realist representatives on issues such as world order, globalization, national strategy and international security,as well as the internal differences of realism school. The research results of this paper have a certain impact on better understanding of the current state of Russia's international studies after the collapse of the Soviet Union and Russia's domestic and foreign strategic policies. At present, there are two obvious trends in the study of Russian realism theory of international relations, namely westernization and isolationism.Westernization aims to integrate the results of Russian international relations studies into the global academic community, but isolationists believe that this is an unacceptable path, which will actually cause Russia's realist international relations theory to lose its historical and cultural heritage.
