The research on national identity and regional order is an important part in thefield of international relations, but there are few studies on a combination of both.The Constructivism introduced and imported identity theory from the field ofsociology, which ushered International Relations into a new era, and made animportant assertion on national identity. China and Northeast Asia, the indivisibilityof both is not only on geography, but also there is an important association betweenChina’s construction of national identity and the changes of the order in NortheastAsia.The idea factors that affected the construction of national identity and powerfactors that caused Northeast Asian regional order changes are both to be the mostreflection on the relationship between the two bodies. In history, there was a closerelationship between the transformation and reconstruction of Chinese nationalidentity and the changing and recycling of the order in Northeast Asia. In differenthistorical periods, the Northeast Asian region that manifested itself in the process oforderly development idea of order as follows: Centrism (Tianxia view), Colonialism,Ideology Doctrine, Regionalism and Nationalism, which has complex linkage withthe change and construction of Chinese national identity. At the same time, due tothe power structure changes in the Northeast Asia regional the regional orderexperienced Tributary Order, Colonial Order (including Japan’s Greater East AsiaCo-Prosperity order) poles during the Cold War order, the post-Cold War order,which also give a profound impact on the transform of China’s national identity.Facing with the new regional order changes and the growth of China’s nationalstrength, the relationship between the construction of China’s national identity andthe adjustment of Northeast Asia power structure becomes an important researchtopic.China should learn from the historical experience, from both ideas and powerperspective, to establish the identity of responsible big power, and bring peace,harmony and development to China and Northeast Asia.Also in the process ofregional order change China should exert influence, with countries in the region, to work together to build a just and reasonable new order.
