"With history as a mirror, you can know the rise and fall;with people as a mirror, you can see the gains and losses." The same is true for the analysis of phenomena or problems in a period. The transformation of modern Chinese traditional law is the inevitable choice of history. At the same time, the society, politics, culture and economy are also developing with it.With the increasing communication between modern China and other countries in the world, the translation as a communication medium has become more and more important, and the legal translation is also an important part of it.legal translation plays an important role in promoting the transformation of modern Chinese traditional law and is one of the necessary factors in promoting the transformation of modern law.The Qing government was forced to open the door to study western legal culture, accept western legal thoughts, and resist the illegal aggression of Western capitalist countries with the help of western laws. There were three periods in the development of legal translation in the late Qing Dynasty, among which the dissemination of western law by Western missionaries before the first Opium War was the embryonic stage of legal translation;the emergence of various translation schools and translation institutions from the first Opium War to the early period of the Sino Japanese war was the development stage of legal translation, and the lawrevision from the Sino Japanese War to the late Qing Dynasty Translation is the climax of legal translation. However, until the end of the 19 th century, the concept of traditional Chinese law is still "governing the country by people".Then, from the beginning of the 20 th century to the end of the 20 th century, the emergence of "governing the country by law" shows that China has been learning, transplanting and digesting the western legal system for more than a century, from learning the capitalist European and American legal systems from the United States and Britain to learning the continental legal systems from Germany and Japan By combining with China's local conditions, the concept of socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics was created.Although the rising tide of law in the late Qing Dynasty was a special product forced by the power, the legal thought, legal concept, legal theory and legal system of the western advanced civilization were introduced into China in the form of translation through the study of excellent translation achievements and the continuous and in-depth research of later scholars, which undoubtedly promoted the development of the legal system in China and promoted the modernization of China The transformation of modern law also provides some reference and practical significance for the development of legal translation. This paper takes the development of legal translation in modern China and the transformation of traditional Chinese law as the research object, finds out the internal relationship and research value, andhopes to provide some reference for the development of legal translation and modern Chinese law in the trend of globalization.
