Nigeria-China Economic Relations:Dynamics,Features And Effect Since 1999

As often,the relationship between countries have been characterized and followed by general interest connected with a proportional advantage,whilst globalization has fueled interdependence,alliance,and technological Interconnection among world countries.That has contributed to the liberalization of trade.Over the last decade,relationships amongst Nigeria and China have evolved from the minimal and sporadic interaction that characterized the immediate post-independent period to an increasingly dynamic and comprehensive engagement.More than ever,China can extend the domains of diplomatic and economic relations in an increasingly economic global and political world order.Nigeria is a nation that Africa can't forget.In the twenty-first century!Both Countries try to discover and find avenues not only to improve bilateral relations but also to expand and enhance economic and technological collaboration."Nigerians and Chinese want to form equally beneficial agreements by lessening their variances to go past usual diplomatic ties.This work is set out to analyze the dynamics,nature,and effect of Nigeria-China Economic relations Since 1999.It was carried out to explore the extent to which the economic relations have benefitted both countries.This work considered the historical review of this relations,evaluated the outcome of Nigeria-China economic relations on the economic progress of Nigerian economy,the challenges confronted by Nigeria and China in the quest of these economic relations and the future trends of the economic cooperation amongst Nigeria and China.Data was collected from secondary sources such as journal articles,books,memos,and government official reports.qualitative descriptive method was used in forms of tables and graph which were utilized to describe the trend of the results.Theoretically,the thesis is based on the complex Interdependency theory by Keohane and Nye.The study discussed issues relating to conceptual clarifications like;the concept of economic diplomacy.Among other things,the study notes that the Chinese manufacturing operations Improve the GDP of Nigeria.The study found the two countries had benefited from Nigeria's external relationship with China.Again,it has proven that the relations amongst Nigeria and China is a win-win strategy.This study concludes that the interdependence between China and Nigeria is growing domestically as both sides need each other for long term strategic interrelations markets.
