The Root-seeking Camp in China is a large-scale cultural "Root-protection Project" organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Of The State Council for Overseas Chinese Youth. It started from 1999 until 2018,the Central Government Reformed and put this work under the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese for just 20 years. As a university directly under the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Of The State Council,Huaqiao University has been entrusted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office to undertake the camp activities of "The Root-seeking in China" since 2008.It has been10 years. This article uses Huaqiao University to save archives and materials since it was hosted, includes camper lists, schedules, activity manuals, teachers and campers' experience, and related project management documents, bidding contracts, budget accounts, etc.Interview information with campers and team leaders and 238 campers questionnaires,by proposing the term "Trans-generational Diaspora",summarizes the weak discrete type of the representativeness of the Overseas Chinese Youth in Southeast Asia as reflected in the degree of connection with their Ancestral China and Hometown, specifically through the Southeast Asian,European,American and Mongolian Overseas Chinese Youth as a comparison group to demonstrate and analyze. The full text is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, which expounds the research origin and problem consciousness, theoretical framework, literature review, data sources and research methods. The second part reviews the historical evolution, content, significance and characteristics of the "The Root-seeking Camp in China",the development and implementation of the Huaqiao University Camp Project. In the third part, based on 238 campers recalled questionnaires and the field of teachers and students from Huaqiao University Camp, constructed an "Trans-generationalDiaspora" group typified by Southeast Asian Overseas Chinese Youth and a "Non-Trans-generational Diaspora" group typified by European,American and Mongolian Overseas Chinese Youth, reflect the differences in Self-Ethnic Identity,Chinese Cultural identity, and China National Identity, and the types and patterns of their relationships.indicated that: Overseas Chinese Youth in Mongolian have the strongest Ancestral Identity. They generally have the willingness to return to China in the future,so they will mostly live in Mongolia in the form of diasporas. Most of them continue to hold Chinese nationalities. They always have the closest relationships with China. The Ancestral Identity doesn' t need to be rebuilt.Compared with Mongolia,Overseas Chinese Youth in American and Europe have weaker Ancestral identity, but are stronger than Southeast Asia. They are in the middle stage of immigration assimilating into the local area. They are neither as strong as Overseas Chinese Youth from Mongolia, nor as weak as Overseas Chinese Youth from Southeast Asia. They have closer relationships with China, and their Ancestral Identity has not passed away.Overseas Chinese Youth in Southeast Asian have the weakest Ancestral Identity, and the trend of assimilation into the local area is very obvious. Most of them acquire the nationalities of the host countries and alienate the relationships with China.Instead, they maintain an emotional connection with the Ancestral Country through some Self-Ethnic Group and National Consciousness and Cultural Identity.Although their Ancestral Consciousness has shown a certain degree of the renaissance in recent years, and has been awakened or reshaped by the Root-seeking Camp in China, but their Ancestral Identity has yet to be rebuilt. The fourth part combines the campers' questionnaires and the implementation of "the Root-seeking Camp in China" project to evaluate its effectiveness, existing problems, and propose related countermeasures. The fifth part is the conclusion, which defines the concept of "Trans-generational Diaspora" term proposed in this thesis and summarizes theviewpoint.
