A Study On The Effectiveness Of Local Government’s Responding To Citizen’s Internet Appeals

In the past ten years,with the popularization of the mobile Internet,the number of Internet users in China has grown rapidly.The Internet has not only affected the economic and cultural life of the people,but also penetrated into the political life of the people.The people have expressed their various demands to the government through the Internet.Seek an effective response from the government.At the same time,the government has also actively set up various online political platforms in response to the trend of the information age,and collected people’s demands to respond,thus forming a new trend of active and benign interactions between the public and the public on the Internet.However,it is worth noting that as a new field,the government’s response to citizens’ online demands also faces various difficulties from theory to practice.How to ensure that citizens’ online appeals are effectively responded is an important issue that needs to be solved in the new era of online appeals response.It has important theoretical and practical significance to ensure that the government serves the people more efficiently and enhances the people’s centripetal force to the government.The current government response on the Internet,while pursuing "response" and "quick response",has it paid attention to the effective solution of people’s satisfaction and demands? After all,online responses are ultimately based on offline actions.This article uses empirical research methods to select the netizens’ demands and government responses in the mailboxes of the two levels of people in Nanchong City,Sichuan Province,People’s Network "Leadership Message Board," as sample data,and conduct research in conjunction with relevant theories.Specifically,the article is divided into five parts.The introduction of the first part expounds the background,significance,research methods,etc.of the topic,and combs existing research at home and abroad.The second part defines the main concepts,and discusses the state of government response in the network in combination with existing theories.The third part is an empirical analysis part.It analyzes the data in accordance with the three-round path of “Citizens ’Network Requests—Government Response—Citizens’ Evaluation of Government Responses”.It has achieved remarkable results in stimulating people ’s enthusiasm for participating in politics and discussions,promoting the change of work styles of public officials,and promoting the openness of government affairs in grass-roots units.At the same time,there are also disorderly expressions of netizens that harm the effective government response,government evasion response,and lack of coordination and cooperation between government departments The low participation rate of Internet users in response to the government and the lack of interaction between the government and Internet users.The fourth part analyses the problems existing in the government’s response,and analyzes the constraints from three aspects: government,netizens,and the institutional environment.The fifth part continues the constraints of the previous part,and proposes the path choices for enhancing the effectiveness of the government’s response to the citizen’s online appeal,such as building a responsive government,regulating the political participation of the citizen’s network,and establishing and improving related mechanisms.
