Analysis Of Mao Zedong's Class Theory

China's social contradictions with the semi-colonial and semi-feudal nature were complex and acute,and people with lofty ideals failed to save the nation from subjugation and ensured its survival in succession.The victory of the October Revolution in Russia and the deepening development of the New Culture Movement had enabled advanced Chinese intellectuals to understand the theories of Marxism-Leninism and Marxist class theory.Based on the special background of China,Mao Zedong integrated the Marxist class theory with the Chinese revolution and construction,and guided by the paradoxical analysis method,he achieved tremendous development in the theory of Marxist class.In the period of the new democratic revolution,based on a deep understanding of the identity and struggle of contradiction,Mao Zedong insisted the understanding of the Marxist classic writers' thought that the essence of class is economic category,analyzed all classes in Chinese society with detail in accordance with the "economic status and its attitude toward the revolution" standard,accurately concluded the class structure of Chinese society,scientifically defined the middle class of Chinese society,and realized the liberation of the nation and the people through the class struggle of service revolution,so that the people's democratic dictatorship,a special form of proletarian dictatorship,established in China,and realized the political conditions of liberation.Afterwards,represented by Mao Zedong,the Chinese communists realized the transformation of the means of production from private ownership to public ownership through socialist reform of socialist revolution nature,so that the socialist system was established in China.During the initial stage of socialist construction,based on a deep understanding of the universality and particularity of contradiction,Mao Zedong pointed out that although there's still a class struggle in socialist society,class struggle would no longer be the major social contradiction,which made “correctly deal with contradictions among the people” as the theme of the country's political life and “protect and develop social productivity” as the central task,so as to strive for the continued realization of the economic conditions for liberation.Due to the lack of experience in socialist construction and the influence of the Twentieth Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union as well as the domestic Anti-Right Struggle,Mao Zedong returned to the inertial thinking of the revolutionary period when thinking about problems,putting over-emphasis on the struggle in the field of ideology,neglecting the contradictory analysis method,subjectively viewing the class nature from the economic category to the political category,and judging the class structure from dynamic multivariate to binary opposition.Besides,he renewed the class contradiction which belonged to the non-main contradiction as the main class contradiction,and then he put forward the “Taking class struggle as the key link”,so that class theory changed.Confusion and abolition of the exploiting class and abolition of class and the insistence on "taking class struggle as the key link" in the period of socialist construction are the two major limitations of Mao Zedong's class theory,which have brought heavy impacts on the political and economic life of the socialist society.But we should not neglect its historical contribution because of the two limitations of Mao Zedong's class theory.The historical contribution of Mao Zedong's class theory is the most important: it has solved the problem of Chinese revolution which has never been fully covered by Marx's classical writers from two aspects of theory and practice;it dialectically elucidated the class struggle in socialist society;its class analysis method which is based on social investigation and guided by contradiction analysis still useful and instructive for us to understand the current social conflicts in China and the new changes in social class and stratum.
